While working in IT as a consultant to companies around the country, video conferencing became part of my family life. It filled a major void when I found myself alone in a hotel room far from home. That's just one way video conferencing technology benefits us.
In my career, colleagues in different cities made better connections with team-mates when they were able to meet "face-to-face" via video conferences.
And then when my children moved across the country, video conferencing again kept us in touch, especially when new family members joined the fold.
Video conferencing is now a tool I use whenever I want to share things with family members who live in other cities. It is a convenient way to demonstrate things from one computer to another, whether it is how to use an application or just sharing what we're up to in the online world.
